Why on earth do you want to work in an office today? He asked me as I packed up my lap top. The weather amazing, the Smalls at school – no freelancer in their right mind would have made this choice, I had to agree with him.
But sometimes a change is a good as a break. And anyway, I had been chatting to the lovely PR at Fruit Towers about a possible blog tie-up and…. well, one thing led to another and there I was skipping (literally skipping) off to West London to learn more about the fruit and veg crammed into Innocent smoothies, juices and pots.
Clemmie Marjorie Nettlefold. As if named by Beatrix Potter, this is a PR who goes against the grain. As many of you know, I’m well versed in PR having spent most of my career in an agency or in-house surrounded by publicists. Clemmie was my hostess and a perfectly charming one at that. On brand, on the ball, on form and yet OFF my case about how this post would actually take form. (phew! as I never really know myself until the moment I write it up.)
The Innocent offices, located at Portobello Dock (only separated by the water from Dock Kitchen), reflect the quirky, fun brand. 5 floors of an insane amount of breakout areas, table football and ping pong, a gym and all laced together with Cath Kidson-style bunting makes me coo like an over-excited freelancer.
At my desk I eavesdrop like mad. I’m nosy and dying to know what they are planning: Innocent Inspires… guest speakers… making your own smoothies…giving your verdict on the new ones… limited invitees… quirky venue… let me come! let me come! I plead. Oh and let my readers have a chance to come too I add.
Ms Nettlefold fixes it all (with the help of Mrs Tiggywinkle of course). The experiential marketing seminar (on 24th July) will focus on how to turn an idea into a business as we hear entrepreneurial stories straight from the horses’ mouths. I personally know of at least 4 of these speakers at this (one in a series of) Innocent Inspires event and they are – hand on heart – truly inspirational.
Innocent Inspires is a series of inspirational evenings tailor-made by Innocent. Book today to secure your place.
In case you are unlucky, 2 tickets are being set aside for my readers so let me know if you are keen to join in by tweeting @yablon as to what inspires YOU! Personally I am inspired by clever, insightful brands….
