A couple of days before the Grazia shoot, I received a brief call from the magazine’s picture editor. She was keen to know which brands/sizes I would like to be photographed in so that she could call in the necessary items. Now, I think you have all worked out that I’m a keen old shopper but, left with limited time and only my wardrobe and net-a-porter at my fingertips, I seriously struggled to work out what on earth I should wear!
And that’s when I had my revelation. However much we LOVE to shop online, it certainly doesn’t replace the love and attention and advice we get when we enter a real-life boutique. A quick phone call to Anna in Primrose Hill before I flung myself on her shop floor. The team there greeted me with open arms (their clothes were to appear in Grazia after all!) and full of hangers.
Anna’s deal was that I could try on anything I liked and take it all home with me for the shoot day. All the items would be returned Cinderalla-style afterwards, unless of course I was keen to purchase them.
I should stress that, following my brief ‘I only want to wear jeans and a divine top’ very few clothes they tossed in my direction were wrong. In fact, I left with more than enough perfectly fitting, flattering and RIDICULOUSLY purchasable items.
This is what I wore:
This is what I bought:
My advice is don’t wait for Grazia to call, just nip into Anna for some fashion-loving advice!
