What I wore last night

I swore I would never write what I wore last night.  Not because I am completely intimidated by the fashion bloggers who do it so well.  Not because I fear to enter the fashion world.  But because I never wear anything interesting enough to fill a blog post – let alone organise a selfie.

HOWEVER, last night I wore a jumpsuit.  Therefore momentarily jumping into that fashion box.

I tried to paint how I might look…

I’m so glad that jumpsuits are here to stay’ commented one of my besties.  ‘I mean, they’re not a trend but a staple’, she added with all the conviction I needed.

Anyway, the invitation dress code implied glam and I needed inspiration for something a bit different.

Mason by Michelle Mason was brand new to me.  Michelle was born in Korea (she’s exactly the same age as me) and studied fine arts at California State University.  More recently she was a fashion model here in London before returning to LA as a shoe designer.  Women’s ready-to-wear came next and Mason was launched in 2002.

Mason is all about the tailored fit but this silky jumpsuit has perhaps been an unexpected winner for the brand. It carries the sharpness and forward aesthetic of a modern woman, while the delicate French lace makes it properly feminine and curiously sexy.

Ok. I’m done.  And I promise never to pose as a fashionista again.
