Day one in Manhattan

finally, my weekend in NYC

finally, my weekend in NYC

There’s been much build up to this trip, mostly created by me.  The idea of a weekend away (flying solo for a start) in New York with my brother and his family has been FULL ON exciting and so finally, with military precision, I have extracted myself from Him and the Smalls and I’m here.

I was up with jet lag (and excitement) so found myself taking an early morning stroll up Amsterdam.  Drawn into Organic Avenue, I heard from the team there how the business has exploded this year from one store to a mere 11 across the city.

My nephew and I had a slap-up breakfast (with his parents too) at Sarabeth’s before Bro and I set off for some downtown shopping.

That evening we headed out to the Meatpacking District for pre-dinner drinks in the Jane Hotel Ballroom.

We finished off our day with a very reasonable but yummy dinner at Cafe Gitane.
